Today’s post is about Women’s fitness suggestions over age 40. If you are 40 or older, you know your body has changed.
Women’s Fitness Suggestions
So, you’ve hit 40. No worries. Let’s get started on a plan to ease back into fitness. As you age, you notice your body metabolism slows down. Moreover, you don’t have the same energy as you did in your youth.
As Women age, they tend to slow down. With this in mind, start slowly with an exercise program. In the first place, one of the best exercises is walking. If you’re not a fan of the gym, walks are a great cardiovascular exercise. Not only does walking improve your body, but also your heart health.
At the same time, one of the most important exercises is stretching. When you stretch, you’re able to keep your body flexible. By stretching, you’re preventing injury. Indeed, it is important to stretch before trying any type of fitness activity.
Another important fitness suggestion is to try moving your body by participating in an aerobic class, dance class or try jumping on a trampoline. In addition, use a jump rope. Of course, the faster you’re moving the healthier your bones will be.
Best Women’s Fitness Suggestions
Now that you have started easing back into fitness, you can change your workout. For me, I find the best fitness suggestion to be walking on a treadmill and doing a combination of light weights and stretching.
Because many Women are busy with their family and lives, you may not have a lot of free time. So, the best Women’s fitness suggestions are to find 15-30 minutes three times a week to do a cardio or fitness class. In the same way, there are many 30 minute sessions now being offered at local gyms.
Another great workout for Women is to switch it up. Try three sets of crunches, three sets of arm lifts and shoulder shrugs, 3 sets of leg lifts and 2 sets of body lunges. Finish with a cool down of a walk on either the treadmill or outside.
Women’s Competition in Sports
As Women age, we have seen many enter competitive races and triathlons. Since it is never too late to start entering races, the next few posts will focus on getting you prepared to enter into competition.
As always, I welcome your comment.
