When you’re just starting out exercising; a cardio exercise plan is one that should be at the top of your list. In the first place, any type of cardiovascular exercise will help your heart.

Benefits of Cardio Exercise

First and foremost,  it is important to keep your heart healthy. One of the best ways to do this is to get your heart rate up. The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes of exercise a week. However, if you exercise at a faster rate, 75 minutes a week is recommended. So over the course of a week, 150 minutes computes to 22 minutes a day.

In my opinion, one of the best exercises anyone can do is, walk. If you’re just getting started, visit our Fifteen Minute Treadmill Beginner Workout post. When you first start walking, start at a slower pace. As you get more comfortable, you can increase your pace as well as your minutes.
