Although the holiday season can be joyful; it can also create a lot of stress. So, how can you get through the holidays without pressure? Well, I’m going to provide you with a few ideas to help you get through the holidays in one piece.
Because we all get asked to do many things; let’s take stock on what you have to do and what you can avoid doing. First and foremost, we all have family obligations. But, there are some things we can say “No” too. For example, if you live far away from your family; let them know you are not able to travel this year due to personal or work obligations.
Also, if you’re going home, bring someone close to you, home for the holiday. Still, having an ally with us can make the holiday season seem less stressful.
Create a Holiday List
Make a list of things important to you. Try to eliminate things that you can skip. By having a list of things you have to do; you can easily say “No” and skip certain events. When you receive an invitation to a party or event; let the host know you will try to attend. Don’t over commit. By not giving a definite “Yes”, you’re creating some wiggle room.
Health and Stress
In the first place, stress can be a factor in your health. In the same way, it is important to schedule some downtime for yourself. Whether you plan to watch a movie, exercise or socialize, make sure you do things you want to do.
